William Dutton

Colinton, Edinburgh

Thank you to Lorraine Bruce for sending me the story of her father's life, written by her father, William Dutton.

Most of William's recollections can be found on this page:   Royston.

The notes below are his memories of visiting the Museum of Scotland in Chambers Street.

"On Sundays, after church, my mate Jackie Doig and I would go 'girl hunting'.  The happy hunting ground in winter was the Chambers Street Museum.

We would saunter around the middle tier till we saw someone we fancied.  The girls would do the same.  There were usually about 30 or 40 people, all on the lookout."
