EPS Cash Book - 1861 |

The original EPS Cash Book gives full details of all income and expenditure for the first twenty years from 1861. One of the first items of expenditure was a set of ballot balls at a cost of 6d.

For the first few years from 1861,all members joining the society and paying their subscriptions are individually named in the Cash Book. The 1st Annual Report on 4 December 1861 spoke of: "EPS Council’s pleasure in congratulating the Society upon its very great prosperity. There had been a steady influx of Members during the first year, and by December 1861 the society had seventy Members" |
