Oliver Leach

EPS Members

Oliver Leach moved to Edinburgh from Bristol in the 1960s.  He and his wife, Marjory, both became active members Edinburgh Photographic Society, giving many lectures to the society and exhibiting colour slides in the society's competitions and exhibitions.

Oliver was elected President of EPS for 3 years from April 1978.

Artist

Oliver was also keen on science, astronomy and geology, and was an enthusiastic painter.  He was a member of the Edinburgh Sketching club which met weekly in the EPS Premises at 68 Great King Street and held annual exhibitions in the centre of Edinburgh.

Sense of Humour

Oliver will be remembered by many in EPS for his quirky sense of humour, which entertained us on the EPS Colour Group photographic outings and during the lectures that he and Marjory gave to the society.

Death

Oliver died in Edinburgh on September 26, 2008, aged 84.  His obituary appeared in EPS Bulletin Vol 62, November 2008.
