Aitken family lived in Princes Street 1851,
then Frederick Street, Edinburgh.
John
Aitken attended Glasgow Art School, before becoming an apprentice
photographer in Edinburgh. He may well have worked for Edinburgh
Photographic Company with
studios on the corner of Princes Street and Hanover Street .
