Two Studio Addresses John Dickson appeared in the Edinburgh trade directories with a studio at : - 3 Bristo Place from 1866 until 1890. However, the carte de visite above, which is the only photograph that I have seen by John Dickson, also gives a second address: - 10 Nicolson Street (dates not known) |

1860s Several aspects of this card: - the style of printing on the back of the card. - the top hat featured in the photo - the foot of the stand (to steady the subject during a long exposure) all point towards this photograph having been taken around the 1860s. |
