The views below show the scene of one of many fires that Edinburgh suffered in the 19th century.  

These paintings look far more impressive in colour.  Unfortunately, I do not have colour copies.  However, the landmarks can be clearly seen in the black and white reproductions below:

Watercolour 1 (below) shows the steeple of St Giles Cathedral in the High Street.

Watercolour 2 (below) shows Parliament Square beside St Giles Cathedral.
