I'll begin with a few photos of an earlier event that some of the audience may remember  -  a walk around the City Walls in July 2008, led by Graeme Cruickshank.

A similar walk had taken place a hundred years earlier, including some of the founding members of the Old Edinburgh Club, attending at the invitation of the Survey Group of Edinburgh Photographic Society, founded 1861.

Here are three more photos taken on the same occasion.

Yorkshire to Edinburgh

-  I first became interested in photography while at school in Bradford, West Yorkshire.

Booklets

-  In 2000, I wrote a booklet for EPS Members, giving a history of EPS to 2000.

Web Site

-  I decided to create a personal, non-commercial web site to record my research.

-  The web site was created in 2001.  I'm updating it every day.

-  I've now expanded the web site to include:

-  Recollections

-  Maps

-  Old and Recent Photos

-  Postcards

-  Transport

-  Edinburgh Place Names + Expressions

-  Edinburgh Today

-  etc.

This evening, we'll concentrate on The History of Photography in Edinburgh.
