2006 This view looks along Princes Street towards the Balmoral Hotel, formerly the North British Hotel, and the monuments on Calton Hill. The photograph was taken from upstairs on a No 10 bus, as it passed the Scott Monument in Princes Street on a fine day in March 2006. Here is a view taken from a balcony immediately to the left (off the picture) by George Washington Wilson in 1860, about 40 years before the North British Hotel was built: 1860 |
