2006
This is an
enlargement from a view looking to the east
along Princes Street.
The
Balmoral Hotel
was formerly the
North
British Hotel, and originally the North British Railway Hotel.
By tradition, the clock on the hotel is set 3 minutes ahead of the true
time to encourage passengers to reach their trains early.
The
monuments on Calton Hill can be seen in the background.
The photograph
was taken from upstairs on a No 10 bus, as it passed the
Scott Monument
in Princes Street on a fine day in March 2006.
