This view of Arthur's Seat in Holyrood Park is rather more informative than many modern postcards. The summit of Arthur's seat, the 823 ft high extinct volcano close to the centre of Edinburgh is on the left of this view. Other features are numbered 2, 3 and 4. This card by J R Russell of Edinburgh was posted on 14 July 1910. the scene looks very similar today, except the sheep can no longer be found roaming over the hill. |
