Forth Bridge

The Forth Rail Bridge between South Queensferry and North Queensferry, about ten miles to the west of Edinburgh was built in the 1880s and opened in 1890.

Many postcards of the bridge have been published.  This one by J R Russell, posted in Edinburgh on 16 February 1904 is interesting, showing a train emerging from the north end of the bridge towards North Queensferry Station, and a large sailing yacht below, in the Firth of Forth at North Queensferry.  The island behind the yacht is Inchgarvie.
