Where is it?

Thank you to Neil Lawrence, Fountainbridge, Edinburgh, for allowing me to reproduce this postcard.  Neil is trying to discover where the photo on the front of this card was taken.  Please click on the thumbnail below to enlarge it.

The Front of the Postcard

The card was posted in 1906 in Yorkshire, but was published by the Edinburgh Photogrpaher, TP Lugton, 44 Raeburn Place, Stockbridge, Edinburgh.

TP Lugton had his photographic studio at this address  from 1905 to1909.  So the scene may be somewhere in North Edinburgh.

Neil adds:

"The buildings look like they are disused, part of an unfinished terrace judging by the stones on the left. The numbering is 4,5 and 6.

Somebody might be able to tell about the type of street light or the railings around the grassed in the foreground.  It might not be Edinburgh !"

The Back of the Postcard

The message on the back of the postcard reads:

"Dear Miss Brown

So glad to get your P.C. from W.  I have not been there yet.  I do hope I shall manage to get to see them  before my Holidays are over.

You will see this is ?????????? House.

Yours sincerely  M.C.

I don't recognise the missing word: '??????????'.

It looks something like Kimmeryhome House or Kimmery Lane House; or perhaps the first letter is a B or an R.

If you recognise this scene or can read the handwriting, please e-mail me.

Thank you.
