Lantern Slides

Here is a collection of lantern slides.  All come from the same source.  These slides once belonged to Edinburgh Public Health Dept.  They are 3.25in x 3.25in (black + white positives)

John Stirling, who rescued these slides from being dumped in 1974 points out that they are almost all are of Edinburgh and none are of Leith, which suggests that they were likely to have been taken some time before the amalgamation of Edinburgh and Leith in 1920.

Most of the slides are untitled.  A few have small 'AH Baird' labels on them.

In his advertisements, AH Baird described himself as:

-  1901-40:  Optical Limelight Lanternist + Photographic Dealer

-  1920-23:  Enlarger

-  1926-28:  Developer and Printer
