"A Merry
Christmas" |
Postcard
This card
probably dates from around 1901-05, when most of the other
postcards by James Patrick appear to have been produced.
The winters now don't seem to be so harsh as they were then.

14th Fairway
"The skaters
are on the 14th fairway of the Braid Hills No 1 Golf
Course, Edinburgh. The pond was drained many years
ago. The 14th fairway is still know as the pond.
You can see the
original old Braid Road on the right side of the 'photo. The
road connected the old village of Liberton westwards to the
Braid Hills district before the new road was built.
Out of interest, the
new road is divided into three; Liberton Drive, Braid Hill's
Drive and Braid Hill's Road.
Part of the old road
is still there and visible on the 14th and 8th fairways to
this day."

Two Photos
I was interested
to see that the two pictures above are in fact from different
negatives. Some of the figures in are in the same
positions in both photos above, but others have moved. |
