LNER Station

Where is it?

Thank you to Stephen McMahon for sending me photographs of his grandparents standing beside a Telegraph& Post Office, outside an LNER station.

The photograph of his grandfather is above.  To see the photograph of his grandmother, please click on the thumbnail image below.

Stephen believes that these photos were probably both taken around the 1930s or possibly late-1920s. He adds that the Telegraph Office is quite a distinctive building, and wonders if anybody can recognise when these photos might have been taken.

Ballater?

"I think the photo at the top of this page, and this railway photo

may both have been taken in Station Square in Ballater, Aberdeenshire.

The building that Stephen McMahon's grandparents are standing outside looks like the Albert Memorial Hall.  The entrance is pretty similar as can be seen in this flickr photo.

Although i think the background of Stephen's photos is little further to the side of the entrance, seen better in this link. **

I might be wrong though.
