This postcard appears to be from a time when life and shopping was a little more leisurely.

The restaurant had a small orchestra that played all day.  The orchestra played requests from diners who passed a note of their favourite melodies to the waitresses.    [Edinburgh Shops, Past & Present:  Malcolm Cant.]
