Tuck's "Oilette" series

Here is  a postcard from the Raphael Tuck & Sons' "Sepia" Edinburgh series (2144).

This card has not been sent through the post.

Tuck's description on the back of this card reads:

"Edinburgh Castle is an ancient and historic building situated on a precipitous hill in the centre of the town.  This almost impregnable position has made the hill the site of a castle from very early times.

Up these heights Claverhouse climbed to interview Gordon with a view to persuading him to raise his standard on behalf of James Stuart.  The ancient Scottish regalia is stored here."
