Princes Street and the North British Hotel

The View

This view, in the early 1900s, looks from the Scott Monument to the east, along Princes Street towards the monuments on Calton Hill in the distance.  The large building with its clock tower on the right hand side of this view is the North British Hotel, at the junction of Princes Street and North Bridge.

The Postcard

This postcard in black and white has a silver sheen - quite effective for a moonlight sheen.

This is one of the postcards in Valentine's Moonlight Series.  They were, in fact, daytime scenes, but printed to appear as if they were taken by moonlight.
