"This Jerome postcard picture is of a boy in
Cadet Midshipman's uniform. The boy, who appears to be about 12 – 14
years old, is Nigel's uncle, Paddy Freeman. This has been confirmed
to Nigel by Lisa Goode who is the daughter of Paddy Freeman.
All the boys in our family
went to Dartmouth Naval College as did all the boys in the family.
I would guess that the photo must have been
taken in the 1920s, perhaps hinting that my father had been associated
with Jerome at the time.
The father of my mother's step brother, Tony
Gale,
was Col. Gale. He was certainly associated with Jerome, as a
Director, possibly as Chairman in the 1930s to 1940s."

The address on the back of this postcard is
given as:
'JEROME LTD.,
London and Provinces 838.'
What is the significance of No 838? It would
be helpful if such numbers indicated which Jerome branch the photo came from,
but I think this unlikely. - Peter Stubbs,
