Granton Breakwater

Here is the 'white box' at the end of Granton Eastern Breakwater, one of three white boxes on the breakwater.  None are now used.  The one nearest the shore used to be used as the 'starting box' for Royal Forth Yacht Club races that began in Wardie Bay.

Beyond the 'white box' are the remains of the old wooden pier that used to be at the end of the breakwater.

To the left of the 'white box' on the opposite side of the harbour entrance is the Western Breakwater, soon to look very different as work on the Edinburgh Waterfront project progresses.

Behind the Western breakwater, and immediately to the right of it in this picture, is Cramond Island.
