Wullie Croal's Photos

Thank you to Tam Croal for allowing me to reproduce this photo.  This is one of many photos taken by Tam's father Wullie Croal in the Dumbiedykes area between the 1950s and 1970s.

The View

This view looks to the west from the slopes beneath Salisbury Crags in Holyrood Park, towards Edinburgh Castle.

The two streets, centre-right in this photo are (left) Brown Street and (right) Salisbury Street.  All the buildings in these streets, except the church on the corner of Brown Street and Pleasance, had been demolished before this photo was taken.
