Wullie Croal's Photos

Thank you to Tam Croal for allowing me to reproduce this photo.  This is one of many photos taken by Tam's father Wullie Croal in the Dumbiedykes area between the 1950s and 1970s.

The View

This view looks to the NW from the slopes beneath Salisbury Crags in Holyrood Park.  The tower of the North British Hotel, now the Balmoral Hotel, and the Nelson Monument on Calton Hill can be seen on the skyline.

The building on the extreme left is the former James Clark School, now converted to housing.
