The view

This view looks to the east down Prince of Wales Dock.

The tower of the hydraulic pumping station at the eastern end of Prince of Wales Dock can be seen behind the ship.

On the right of the picture is the Victorian swing bridge (just visible above the water) with the new apartments in Tower Place behind the bridge.

The ship

'Botnica' is a Finish multipurpose icebreaking ship.

Outside the icebreaking season, it operates in areas such as the Gulf of Mexico.
