Western Harbour

Here, the Scottish Fisheries Protection Vessel, Jura, is berthed beside the Royal Yacht Britannia, now a visitor attraction, beside Ocean Terminal at Leith Western Harbour.

Vigilant

The Scottish Fisheries Protection Agency  is responsible for the enforcement of sea fisheries regulations around the Scottish coast and out to the 200 mile limit.

FPV Vigilant is the oldest of the Scottish Fisheries Protection Agency's  ships. Built at Ferguson’s Shipyard Port Glasgow, she was launched in 1982.

She is 72 metres in length and has a gross tonnage of 1,366. She has a crew of 16, a top speed of 18 knots and is used mainly for offshore enforcement tasks.
