Coffee Bar and Police Box  -  Middle Meadow Walk

On the corner of Middle Meadow Walk
and Lauriston Place

Here are two of Edinburgh's Police Boxes, one out of use, and the other converted to a Coffee Bar.  The closest box is on a trailer, parked at the southern end of Middle Meadow Walk.  It is in fact a reproduction box made of wood.

The box in the background is in Lauriston Place.  It is a genuine Edinburgh Police Box, but it has not been used for many years.

The building in the background is the former Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.   The site of the infirmary is now branded 'Quartermile'  Some of the old buildings are being converted and new buildings are being built to provide hotels, offices, homes, shops and restaurants.
