This image of Bessie Flucker, dressed in Newhaven fishwives' costume is taken from a sepia portrait photographed in the studio of Harper & Smellie between 1902 and 1904. Harper & Smellie had studios at: - 1899-1904: 163 Leith Walk - 1902-1906: 130 Princes Street - 1905-1908: 131,135 Leith Walk Mr Smellie appears to have then left the business, leaving it to John Campbell Harper. The business continued until 1988. |
