Edinburgh's Floral Clocks

Princes Street Gardens

A Floral Clock is planted in Edinburgh during the summer months each year.  The first was planted in 1903.  The idea has been copied by many other cities around the world.

2011 Ceremony

This photo was taken on August 9, 2011 when a ceremony, attended by the Lord and Lady Provost and others, was held to commemorate the planting of the 2011 Floral Clock and the 150th Anniversary of the first firing of the One o'Clock Gun.

Here, Brian McKenzie, Chairman of the One o' Clock Gun & Time Ball Association, one of several speakers at this ceremony, says a few words on behalf of the association.
