This photograph was taken on Christmas Eve, 2010 from the Radical Road that runs up the left-hand side of this photo, at the foot of Salisbury Crags.

This view looks to the north.  There is just a glimpse of the Firth of Forth and the snow-capped hills of Fife, beyond, above the clock tower of the Balmoral Hotel at the East End of Princes Street in this photo.

Eric Gold, in his recollections of Dumbiedykes, has spoken of the 'Big Chief' on the rocks at Salisbury Crags.  I think that might be the Big Chief that we are seeing, close to the top of the rocks, on the left, in this photo.
