Peter added:

"These two sketches are both framed.  The back of each frame carries a label ‘ANDREW BARRON, Picture Frame Maker, 34 FREDERICK STREET EDINBURGH’.  I can only find internet reference to Andrew Barron in Hanover Street in the 1880s when he was mentioned as a carver and gilder’.

 My pictures must be later (I think) as Phillimore didn’t move to North Berwick until the 1890s."
