Granton Gas Works Station

This photo was taken during a visit to the former Granton Gas Works Railway Station by members of the Cockburn Association on March 23, 2011.  The new terminus of the 24 Lothian Buses route

The Window

Here is a small window on at the eastern end of the bridge leading from the top floor of the station to Granton Gas Works.

-  Was this window used for clocking in and out? 

-  Was it used for selling tickets for the trains?  Maybe not:  there was a comment in a Granton, Now & Then exhibition in 2006 that travel on this line had been free for workers.

The Top Floor

Through the window we see the top floor of the station.  Here is a view taken from inside this top floor, now refurbished and awaiting some alternative use:
