Greyfriars' Bobby's Gravestone

Here is a photo of the gravestone to Greyfriars' Bobby, the Skye terrier, buried near the entrance to Greyfriars' church.  Toys and gifts have been left on and beside the gravestone.

Greyfriars' Bobby was a Skye Terrier who visited his master's grave daily for fourteen years after his master died, until his own death in 1872.  His master was John Gray, a night watchman for Edinburgh City Police.

Greyfriars' Bobby is actually buried just inside the gate of the graveyard, rather than on consecrated ground.  His master is buried nearby, in the graveyard.

Zoom out and see Greyfriars' Bobby's gravestone and the church.
