When this photo of Rex Launderette was taken on January 3, 2008, almost all the other buildings in the surrounding area had been demolished.

The building behind and to the left of the launderette in this photo, on the corner of Wauchope Avenue and Niddrie Mains Drive  is the block of shops at 19-25 Niddrie Mains Drive:
