There is a big time gap between the dates of
these two photographers on the EdinPhoto web site.
The
document does not say explicitly that Duthie was a photographer at this
time, in 1904. When
did the postal address change from 6 Rose Street to 13 South David Street?
Any thoughts?

Thanks, Ron, for your comments. I agree about the time gap if we
look at when these two men were photographers with studios in Edinburgh.
However, I also have
information for photographic dealers in Edinburgh, based on the
contemporary trade directories. This neatly bridge some of the 46
year gap that you refer to. See the table below. |

Another Generation?
I don't know whether the John M Turnbull and JF Duthie photographic
dealers were the same men as John M Turnbull and JF Duthie photographers.
Perhaps at least one of these might have been another generation of the
same family.
