History
Eastfield Terminus is situated beside the Firth of Forth at
Joppa, close to the eastern end of Portobello Promenade.
This has been an Edinburgh bus terminus for many years.
Here are buses on routes 26 and 44 waiting at the terminus in the
early 1970s. Now both routes continue further east into East
Lothian.

In the photo at the top of this page, an open-top bus,
carrying members of the Edinburgh Transport Group, has stopped for
a photo stop at the terminus. It is facing to the west,
towards the sun.
Normally, the buses
using this terminus stop, facing to the east, at the bus stop on
the pavement
beside the Firth of Forth.
This photo was taken
from the bus, looking down on members of the Edinburgh
Transport Group, shortly after the bus stopped at the terminus. |
