Tranent Haddington Road  -  Route 15

The Terminus

Tranent lies about ten miles to the east of Edinburgh, and about two miles south of the Firth of Forth.

This view looks to the east at Tranent, along High Street towards Haddington Road.  This was the terminus for Route 15 until the service was extended to Tranent Windygoul on September 30 2007.

The Route

Routes 15 and 15A are similar except for the southern section of the route where alternate busses take different routes between Penicuik Town Centre and Fairmilehead:

-  15:    via Auchendinny, Roslyn Hotel (for Chapel) and Bilston

-  15A:  via Easter Bush

However, the bus in this photo is on a part route, and is going only as far as King's Road, Portobello -  then in to the Lothian Buses garage at Seafield.

The Photo

This photo was taken on a stormy evening on August 9, 2008.  It's interesting to see the change in price of fuel since this photo was taken just under eleven months ago - an increase of about 30%.
