The Terminus

The new 'Edinburgh Royal Infirmary' opened at Little France, about 4 miles SE of the centre of Edinburgh in 2002.

This replaced the old hospital built at Lauriston Place in 1879.

Bus Routes

There are now several Lothian Buses routes that terminate at or pass through the grounds of the New Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.  These provide direct connections between many parts of Edinburgh and the hospital.

Despite the good bus services, and the relatively high parking charges at the hospital, it can be seen from this photo that many people prefer to travel by car.
