Gyle Centre  -  Route 21

The Terminus

The Gyle Centre is a shopping centre close to the Edinburgh-Glasgow road and the Edinburgh bypass, about 5 miles west of the centre of Edinburgh.  It was built on a 50 acre site and opened in 1993.

The Routes

Lothian Buses routes 2,12,18, 21 and 22 all terminate at Gyle Centre.
Routes and 24 and 35 pass through the Gyle Centre.

In this photo, the bus going around the fountain as it approaches the Gyle Centre terminus is on route 21.  The bus is painted in the old style Lothian Buses livery of madder and white, as opposed to the new harlequin livery in red, gold and white used for low floor buses.

Route 21 runs round the north of the City via Clermiston, Leith and Portobello on its journey from Gyle Center to the new Edinburgh Royal Infirmary at Little France.  The journey takes about an hour and a half.
