Seton Sands Terminus  -  Route 26

The Terminus

In the early 1970s, Eastfield was the terminus of routes 26 and 44.

Now both of these routes have been considerably extended:

-  Route 26 to Seton Sands and to Tranent.

-  Route 44 to Wallyford and Pencaitland.

However, a few buses still terminate at Eastfield, described on the bus stop here as 'Joppa Pans'.  The terminus is beside the Firth of Forth, about a mile SE of Portobello.

The View

This view looks to the east along the Firth of Forth, towards Musselburgh in East Lothian.  The photograph was taken at 8.30pm on August 8, 2007.

The two chimneys are on Cockenzie Power Station, beside the Forth of Forth, about five miles to the east.  Further along the coast of East Lothian, the small hill on the skyline is North Berwick Law, about fifteen miles to the east.

The Bus

The bus in the distance heading to the east is in the livery of route 26, with a map of the route painted on the back of the bus:
