'Penicuik City Link'

The No 47 bus here in its new red white and blue livery matches the colour scheme of 'Square Snack - Take Away' at the foot of Granton Road.

Routes 37 (Penicuik to Silverknowes) and 47 / X47 (Penicuik to Granton) use this livery with the branding 'Penicuik City Link'

HMS Claverhouse

The old building behind the bus was once Granton Hotel, where travellers stayed overnight when ships sailed between Granton Harbour and London.  It is now HMS Claverhouse:

Edinburgh Squadron 205 (Scottish)
Field Hospital (volunteers)

It is used by the Royal Naval Reserve and  Sea Cadets.

The old 'Granton Hotel' lettering can still be seen faintly on the frontage of the building.

Granton

The new light-coloured building on the extreme left of the picture is part of Corinthian Quay,  recently completed apartments built beside the Lochinvar Drive (formerly Middle Pier) entrance to Granton Harbour, as part of the Edinburgh Waterfront re-development.

These apartments and the Lochinvar Drive entrance to Granton Harbour can be seen on thon the photo below which looks to the north from Granton Square, as a No 47 bus approaches its Granton Square terminus from Waterfront Avenue then West Harbour Road.
