Shunting Coal Wagons at Granton
"In this photo, the LNER loco is shunting coal
wagons. They are either to go up to or have returned from Granton Gas Works.
Latterly a diesel shunter performed this job.
Wagons and Turntable Preserved
"The wagon marked 'Leith General Warehousing (LGW)'
came from Leith. The LGW premises were beside South Leith Station in
Constitution Street.
One of these wagons is preserved at the Scottish
Railway Preservation Society's railway at Bo'ness, West Lothian, as is a small
turntable used for moving the wagons in and out of the LGW warehouse."
