View of the Pentland Hills from Duddingston Loch

The Pentland Hills is a range of mountains running for about ten miles from south-west to north-east.  The hills lie to the south-west of Edinburgh.

Duddingston Loch is one of three lochs in Queens' Park, close to the centre of Edinburgh.  In the 19th century Duddingston Loch was used for recreation - skating and curling - but in recent times it is more likely to be the scene of picnics and family outings to feed the ducks.
