More events are added to Edinburgh's Capital Christmas celebrations
each year.
In 2003, and again in 2004, an area of West Princes Street Gardens has
been fenced off to hold reindeer from Aviemore in the Scottish Highlands,
in the run-up to Christmas.
Here, the reindeer can be seen relaxing in their new surroundings near the
West End of Princes Street on a fine winter afternoon. This
photograph was taken on Sunday 12 December, the day the reindeer arrived
in the gardens. This was also the day that the Santa Fun Run for
charity was held in Princes Street Gardens.
