Barrhill

Barrhill is the last station on the line from Glasgow before reaching Stranraer.  Ferries sail from Stranraer to Ireland.  The station is in the hills, high above the small village of Barrhill.

This is one of the few stations in the area that is still manned.  It has a signal box at the end of the platform.  Its roof is just visible in the photo above.

A token system operates on the single line track between Barrhill and Stranraer.  Here the station master is about to pass a token to the driver.
