Bo'ness

Bo'ness lies on the Firth of Forth to the West of Edinburgh.  It is the home of the Scottish Railway Preservation Society.

SRPS operates long distance rail tours in Scotland to Kyle of Lochalsh and other destinations.  It also operates steam and diesel trains from Bo'ness to Birkhill where visitors can tour the local fireclay mine.

Here, visitors to one of the  'Thomas the Tank Engine'  weekends on 7 August 2005 stand at the end of the platform awaiting the departure of the final train of the afternoon.  Earlier trains during the day were hauled by Thomas.  This one is to be hauled by a double-headed diesel.
