The Scandinavian Church |
Here is a postcard by an unknown publisher, showing how the interior of the Scandinavian Church looked in the days when it was a church. The exterior of the building has not changed much ... ... but inside, the building has now become the Leith School of Art: |

Thank you to Edith Johnston for posting a message in the EdinPhoto guest book. Edith wrote: |
Scandinavian Church "I remember my childhood Christmas Parties at the Scandinavian Seamen's church in Junction Street, Leith, every year in the 1950s and 1960s. The Christmas trees were decorated with small Scandinavian flags and white candle lights. - The minister at the church was Mr Andreassen. - My gran was Danish. She attended this church every week. She was married there in 1913. - My grandparents were Dagmar & Harry Lindemann. If anyone remembers them, I'd love to hear from them."
