Stereoscopic
cards were popular from around the 1850s until early in the 20th
century. They consisted of two photographs, each about 3 ins
square, mounted on board about 7 ins x 3.5 ins. They were
viewed through a stereoscope to give a 3D image.
Edinburgh

- several of Edinburgh's own photographers.
