Morrison Street is the road in the foreground that runs out of the left-hand side of the picture.

1, Grove Street

No 1 Grove Street is the fancy dress shop on the corner named:

MONKEY BUSINESS

This was the business address of John Center, professional photographer and bagpipe maker, from 1873 until 1880, and again from 1889 to 1895.

3, Grove Street

No 3 Grove Street is the first door on the left up Grove Street.  It is next door to Monkey Business, on the right hand side as we look at the picture above.

This was the home address of John Center, professional photographer and bagpipe maker, from 1873 until 1892.  For most of this period his shop was next door at No 1.  For the balance of the period it was a few yards further away at No 161 Morrison Street.

161, Morrison Street

161 Morrison Street was another of John Center's business addresses - between 1886 and 1888.

This is the shop with the legend:

RECORDS - TAPES - CDs

BOUGHT - SOLD - EXCHANGED

The shop is just visible in this picture behind the two figures walking out of the left hand side of the picture.
