Western end of the Street
Arthur Street was the
first turning on the left after climbing the Pleasance from
Holyrood Road and passing the Edinburgh University buildings.
The old houses in
Arthur Street were demolished around the 1960s, but the old
cobbled surface at the top of the street has survived. This
is now part of New Arthur Place. This view looks to the east
down New Arthur Place.
Salisbury Crags in Holyrood Park can be seen rising above the
buildings in the background in this photo. |
