One Resident Remains
Most of the houses at
Pennywell are now empty, awaiting demolition. In this block at the
eastern end of Pennywell Gardens, there was just one resident remaining
when the photo was taken on December 14, 2006.
The occupant was Stanley
Lawson, aged 69, living in his one-bedroom ground floor flat. He has
refused to accept alternative accommodation.
This block will have to be
demolished to allow a replacement for Craigroyston High School to be
built. |
Details of the occupant and the new school appeared in
Evening News November 16, 2006; pp.20-21. |
Eviction
After barricading himself in
his home for five months, Stanley Lawson was taken by surprise when
sheriff officers arrived at his home at 9am on April 4 2007, to evict him.
They took possession of his home.
