Princes Street

This view, from in front of the National Galleries looks to the east along Princes Street towards (from right to left):

-   the Sir Walter Scott Monument

-   the tower of the North British Hotel (now the Balmoral Hotel)

-   the Nelson Monument and National Monument on Calton Hill.

There are groups of pedestrians and a few trams but only a couple of cars and a taxi in this view from the 1950s.  Edinburgh's trams ran until 1956.
